Pals July Hop--New Catalog, New Colors, New In-Colors!

 

Welcome to the July PALS HOP! And what an exciting time it is! Why? You guessed it. This month, we're featuring Stampin' Up!'s New Catalog, New Colors, & In-Colors 2010-11!  If you've hopped over from Martha Stewart’s  Seasons of Stamping, I'm stop number 5 on the PALS HOP and I'm glad you hopped in! As you all probably know by now, I love BRIGHT! So I reached for my new Daffodil Delight cardstock which I’ve just been itching to use ever since I received it. I matched it up to the new Greenhouse Gala DSP which features these new colors—Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, and Baja Breeze along with these old favorites—Chocolate Chip, Real Red, and Pumpkin Pie. As you can tell, I couldn’t quite decide which side of the DSP I wanted to use so I chose to use both by folding the top corner down on my card. I love the way the two sides of this paper coordinate with each other!

I stamped the small flowers from the Vintage Vogue stamp set in Daffodil Delight onto Whisper White, added a Red Circle Fire Rhinestone (which I took apart) to the center of each flower, and popped them onto the corner of my card. I also used a rhinestone to hold down the corner I folded over. I added the new 1/8” Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon across my card and made a separate bow to layer on top of the ribbon.

For the interior of my card, I placed Chocolate Chip cardstock onto my base, cut out a strip of the floral side of my DSP (to match the front of the card), stamped my sentiments from Whimsical Words in Daffodil Delight onto Whisper White, punched them out with my Curly Label Extra-Large Punch, and adhered them with Pop-up Glue Dots onto my card.

April Holiday Hop 2010--Happy Mother's Day, Sweet Pea!

It’s so hard to believe that May is upon us and Mother’s Day is almost here. I know you just arrived from Mary Fish’s Stampin’ Pretty website. Whew! She’s an incredibly hard act to follow! I adore anything and everything that Mary creates.

The card I made for the Pals April Hop is for my wonderful mother-in-law who has always been incredibly supportive of my cardmaking and scrapbooking hobbies. It’s a pleasure to create a card for her. 

I started this card with an Only Orange and Chocolate Chip color scheme in mind. I took my papers from the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Stack and began to put the two DSPs together. But when I flipped the papers over to run my Snail Adhesive on them, I suddenly realized that I loved the Chocolate Chip Polka Dots and Rose Red Floral Papers so much. So, I changed my mind and created a Rose Red base instead of an Only Orange one and my card took off from there.

Pals February Hop--It's Sale-a-bration Time!

Welcome to the Pals February Hop! I’m so glad you stopped by. If you came from my Pal Kim Lampone's Stamp, scrap, get kreative blog, I’m sure you loved what you saw there. This month, the Pals are showcasing the Sale-a-bration catalog … and oh what goodies there are in it.

I love the Cottage Wall Designer Series Paper, so I chose to use two floral papers from it. My Sale-a-bration items are the Vintage Labels Stamp Set and the Happy Moments Stamp Set. I also couldn’t resist using the Scallop Trim Border Punch.

I love the way the Vintage Label Top Note stamp echoes the Stampin’ Up! Top Note Bigz Die on the outside of the card.

For the interior, I used the Top Note Bigz Die to create my writing space.  And, if you know me, you know that I can’t resist using glitter on my cards so I heat embossed the birthday cake using Craft Whisper White and sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds.
