Oh, what fun I had creating this picture frame for today's PPA Challenge--Anything But a Card--and for my four-month-old grandson. My daughter-in-law is so great at constantly e-mailing pics of Micah to me so I thought it would be fun to thank her by creating this frame.
Micah’s room is so colorful! My stepson and daughter-in-law have lots of fun with color. So I tried to use the colors of his room for the frame.
●I took an unfinished wood frame that I had at home and sponged it with Craft Whisper White Ink. Then using my Stamping Sponge (which I cut up in quarters), I added and sponged on the following inks in layers: Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, and Pumpkin Pie.
●I used my Schoolbook Serif Alphabet to spell out Micah’s name in the same three colors above and stamped each letter on Whisper White cardstock. Instead of cutting the letters out, I punched them with my Scallop Oval Punch and my 1-1/4” Square Punch. Gina’s Tip: I maneuvered the punches around each letter to see which ones would work the best.
●Then I took the “Elephant, Jack-in-the-box, and Heart” from the Out of the Box Level 1 Hostess Stamp Set and stamped each on Whisper White in the same three colors again. This time, I used my Scallop Round Punch and 1” Circle Punch to punch out the elements. I sprayed the frame with spray adhesive and then added the letters and the stamped items.
●At the last moment, I remembered that I had the “Hello Baby” sentiment in the Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set so I stamped that sentiment in Pumpkin Pie onto Whisper White and punched it out with my Modern Label Punch. I had to place it above the heart because this beautiful baby boy lives in my heart always!
