Welcome to Pals Paper Arts Challenge #22! But first, Merry Christmas, everyone, and a hearty thank you for all of your support these past few months. Becoming a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator in April 2009 has been a true joy for me…and I thank everyone out there who has stopped by my blog; who has left comments for me; who has attended my workshops; and who has become a virtual friend of mine. I have learned so much and am thrilled to be a part of the Stampin’ Up! and the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ communities! It doesn’t get much better than this. Here’s to a terrific 2010 for everyone!
My Pal Margaret Moody gave us this amazing sketch, as she always does, to work from this week.
Here’s what I did:
•I created a 4” x 6” base from Basic Black cardstock and layered the “Polka Dotted” window sheet from the Night & Day Specialty Designer Series Paper on top (keeping the original white paper under it), cutting it down a ¼” all around. Gina’s Tip: To adhere the window sheet, I used Snail Adhesive where I knew I was going to place my next layer of paper so that it wouldn’t show on my card.
•Then I chose three of the coordinating papers from the Night & Day Specialty DSP and added them according to the numbers in the sketch.
•I stamped the “Snowflake” from the Patterned Pines Hostess Stamp Set in Craft White onto Basic Black and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter on top and then heat embossed it. I cut out the snowflake using my paper snips and adhered it with a Pop-up Glue Dot onto a
•I stamped “Thank You” from my Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set in Real Red onto Whisper White and adhered it to a Basic Black scalloped circle to echo the scallop at the top of the card.
•And, of course, my finishing touch was to adhere a Real Red Circle Fire Rhinestone Brad with a Mini Glue Dot in the middle of the snowflake. Gina’s Tip: To take off the casing of the rhinestone, bend back the tabs and the rhinestone pops out.
Please join us at the Pals Paper Arts Challenge! We love seeing what you create.
Have a very merry holiday season!
