Mojo Monday #98--Medallion Card

It’s that time again! Another Mojo Monday…and you know how much I love this challenge.

Here’s the sketch.

I didn’t think I had a circle large enough for today’s challenge. But, then I remembered that the Pals just had a Stamp Swap and I had received the Medallion stamped in Melon Mambo from Mary Fish. So I pulled it out and that’s what got my mojo going! I was on my way.

Here’s what I did:

I created a base from Melon Mambo of 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”, scored at the top.

The “Diamond/Circle” pattern of the Thoroughly Modern Designer Series Paper worked as the “designed” paper of the sketch. I adhered that to my base. I love "color plus white" monochromatic cards, but today I wanted to add a bit more color. I found the ribbon in my ribbon drawer and that inspired me to add the Pretty in Pink and Bermuda Bay cardstock to my card.

I cut out the Medallion using my Circle Scissor Plus and popped it onto my card using Pop-up Glue Dots. I couldn’t resist adding the pearl in the middle of the Medallion from the Pretties Kit.

Following the sketch, I added my inspirational ribbon. I stamped “Friend to Friend” from theTeeny Tiny Wishes Stamp onto Pretty in Pink using Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo In-Color Markers. Gina’s Tip: Color in your stamp and then, when you have all the colors on the stamp that you want, huff a bit on the stamp pad before stamping. Your breath re-moisturizes the colors.

I punched out my sentiment with my Oval Scallop Punch and adhered it with Snail Adhesive onto my card.

Gina’s Note: I’m glad I joined the Pals Stamp Swap! This is one reason it’s so much fun to be a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and part of an upline. We’ve had Stamp, Paper, and Ribbon Swaps and I’ve gained lots of new materials this way.
