Holiday Hop #3--Black Diamonds Christmas Card

 

Welcome to Stop #14 on the Pals’ Holiday Hop #3! So glad you hopped on by! Did you love what you just saw at Stop #13, Ann Schach’s blog – the Stampin’ Schach?  I know I did!  

For my holiday card, I chose to feature the Ornament Punch and oh, what fun, I had creating this card!

 

Here’s what I did:

 

•I started with a 6” x 4” base of Basic Black cardstock and layered the “Polka Dot” paper from the Night & Day Specialty Designer Series Paper on top of it. Before adhering the paper, I used my Corner Rounder Punch on the two bottom corners. Then I adhered another layer of Basic Black cardstock, again rounding the two bottom corners.

 

•I stamped three ornaments from the Delightful Decorations Stamp Set in Craft Whisper White onto Basic Black cardstock and dusted them with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin’ Glitter. I then set all three ornaments with my heat tool.

 

•I punched out each ornament with my Ornament Punch and adhered them to my card with Pop-Up Glue Dots.

 

•I drew the ornament hangers with my White Signo Gel Pen and added a bow made from Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon to the middle ornament. To draw attention to this one, I placed a Circle Fire Red Rhinestone in the center of the ornament using a Mini Glue Dot.

 

•Lastly, I stamped my sentiment from the “Teeny Tiny Wishes” Stamp Set in Craft White onto Basic Black and punched it out with my Modern Label Punch. I then punched out a piece of Real Red cardstock with my Modern Label Punch, cut it in half, and popped it behind my sentiment. Once more, I used a Pop-Up Glue Dot to adhere it to my card.

 

For the interior:

 

•I cut out a rectangle of the Polka Dot paper and placed it in the center. I chose a rub-on sentiment in silver from the “Merry & Bright Rub-Ons” and placed it on a smaller piece of Basic Black. To finish off the card, I rubbed on several silver snowflakes.

 

•Now, I will add my holiday note with my White Signo Gel Pen.

Holiday Hop--Floating Leaf Lines Card

  
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Welcome to the Pals’ Holiday Hop! Hope you’re having a great time hopping from one blog to the next!

 

My card today features the Leaf Lines Stamp Set.

Here’s what I did:

 

•My base is 5-1/2” x 4-1/4” created from More Mustard cardstock.

 

•I placed a ½” of “Striped” paper from the Autumn Traditions Designer Series Paper at the top of my card. Gina’s Tip: The Autumn Traditions DSP papers are made up of--Elegant Eggplant, Soft Suede, Ruby Red, More Mustard, and Always Artichoke—my favorite Fall colors!

 

•I then added the “White and Color Leaves” patterned paper to the bottom of my card.

 

•I stamped the three leaves from the Leaf Lines Stamp Set in Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, and Real Red onto More Mustard cardstock and snipped out each leaf. Gina’s Tip: Try using different inks on colored cardstock. You’ll be surprised as to what matches the Designer Series Paper and what doesn’t.

 

•I then made three loops of hemp twine and glued one to each of my leaves. I cut out a ¼” strip of Elegant Eggplant and slipped the leaves onto the strip. I then attached this strip onto the card where the two designer papers meet. I added a bit of hemp twine at either end of the strip to tie the card together.

 

•For the interior, I layered Elegant Eggplant and More Mustard cardstock and used my Ticket Corner Punch on all four corners of both cardstock papers.

 

•I stamped my sentiment and the shamrock in Elegant Eggplant onto More Mustard. I punched out my sentiment using my Modern Label Punch and cut out the shamrock. I then punched out another piece of Elegant Eggplant, cut it in half and layered it behind my sentiment.

Holiday Hop #1--A Green Halloween

 

Welcome to the Pals Holiday Hop! Did you come from The Stampin’ Schach? Did you love what you just saw there? I’m sure you did!  

Here’s my Green Halloween Holiday Hop card.

Here’s what I did:

●I created a base of Basic Black cardstock—4-1/4” x 5-1/2”. I adhered the “Green Skeleton” paper from the Cast-a-Spell Designer Series Paper (DSP) onto my base.

●I created a four-flap box from Basic Black cardstock and stamped “Trick or Treat” from the Holiday Best Level 1 Hostess Stamp Set onto Whisper White cardstock using Old Olive ink and my Dusty Durango In-Color Marker.

●I ran Basic Black cardstock through my Big Shot Die-Cut Machine using my Stampin’ Up! Lots of Tags Sizzlits Die. I punched out the interior of the tag and placed the border around my sentiment.

●I cut out one of the skeletons from the “Green and Black Large Skeleton” paper from the Cast-a-Spell DSP and adhered it to the front of my box.

●Before adhering the box to my card, I glued a ¼” black grosgrain ribbon to the back of the box and brought it around to the front and tied a bow.

 

●For the interior of the card, I placed Whisper White onto my base and cut a strip of the “Green and Black Large Skeleton paper” and laid it across the Whisper White.

●I stamped “Happy Halloween” from the “Teeny Tiny Wishes” Stamp Set in Old Olive onto Whisper White and glued it onto the punched out paper from the Big Shot tag I used above. But first, I cut my sentiment into the shape of an oval.

Welcome to the Hop!

It’s so exciting to be a Pal! First, we started the Pals Paper Arts Challenge and now we have a Holiday Hop!

 

What does this mean? Our group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators are going to share their cardmaking and paper crafting skills by showcasing what Stampin’ Up! has to offer—rubber stamps, inks, designer paper, tools, embellishments, and lots more!

 

Our first holiday blog hop is on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, and we’ll be focusing on Halloween! And I know there are lots of people out there who just can’t get enough of Halloween decorations, cards, and goodies! I hope you join us as we hop from one blog to another.
