Welcome to the Pals’ Holiday Hop! Hope you’re having a great time hopping from one blog to the next!

 

My card today features the Leaf Lines Stamp Set.

Here’s what I did:

 

•My base is 5-1/2” x 4-1/4” created from More Mustard cardstock.

 

•I placed a ½” of “Striped” paper from the Autumn Traditions Designer Series Paper at the top of my card. Gina’s Tip: The Autumn Traditions DSP papers are made up of--Elegant Eggplant, Soft Suede, Ruby Red, More Mustard, and Always Artichoke—my favorite Fall colors!

 

•I then added the “White and Color Leaves” patterned paper to the bottom of my card.

 

•I stamped the three leaves from the Leaf Lines Stamp Set in Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, and Real Red onto More Mustard cardstock and snipped out each leaf. Gina’s Tip: Try using different inks on colored cardstock. You’ll be surprised as to what matches the Designer Series Paper and what doesn’t.

 

•I then made three loops of hemp twine and glued one to each of my leaves. I cut out a ¼” strip of Elegant Eggplant and slipped the leaves onto the strip. I then attached this strip onto the card where the two designer papers meet. I added a bit of hemp twine at either end of the strip to tie the card together.

 

•For the interior, I layered Elegant Eggplant and More Mustard cardstock and used my Ticket Corner Punch on all four corners of both cardstock papers.

 

•I stamped my sentiment and the shamrock in Elegant Eggplant onto More Mustard. I punched out my sentiment using my Modern Label Punch and cut out the shamrock. I then punched out another piece of Elegant Eggplant, cut it in half and layered it behind my sentiment.

PPA #2--Wedding Card

I LOVE TO PLAY AT PPA! This is our second Pals Challenge and once again I found myself doing a monochromatic card. I’m going to a wedding this weekend and I know that the bride likes the motif of branches and leaves. She used them on her shower invitation and thank-you note. So I tried to create a wedding card that would “play” on what she likes.

 

 

 

  

 

Here’s the sketch for Pals Paper Arts Challenge #2.

 

 

Here’s what I did:

 

I created a base from Sahara Sand that is 5-1/2” x 8,” scored on the side. I love the Autumn Traditions DSP so I chose the “Soft Suede/Sahara Sand Leaf and Branch” pattern. I used my Scallop Punch on the bottom of the DSP and adhered this to my base.

 

Then I glued the “Very Tiny Leaves” Soft Suede DSP from Autumn Traditions on top of the Leaf and Branch DSP pattern. I stamped the “Birch Leaf” pattern from the Leaf Lines Stamp Set in Chocolate Chip on Sahara Sand and used Certainly Celery ink to watercolor the leaves. I placed it in a diamond shape onto the card.

 

I added Soft Suede ribbon on the plain side. Gina’s Tip: The new In-Color Ribbon is plain on one side and has polka dots on the other. This is so helpful since you can choose which side works best for your card.

 

I stamped the sentiment “Together Forever” from the Fun & Fast Notes Stamp Set in Chocolate Chip and punched it out with my Modern Label Punch. I adhered that on top of my Soft Suede ribbon. Gina’s Tip: Use a baby wipe to clean off any excess ink you get on a stamp so you’re able to stamp only what you want.
