It’s time for Mojo Monday! Because of all of the holiday festivities, I haven’t played a Mojo Monday Challenge in weeks. So today, I was determined to do so. I also needed a new baby girl card and this sketch seemed perfect for what I was looking for.
Here’s the sketch:
Here’s what I did:
•I created a base of Rose Red—5-1/2” x 4-1/4”—opening at the top.
•I layered it with Chocolate Chip by taking 1/4” inch off all the way around.
•I chose the Tall Tales DSP since the patterns are so child-like and followed the sketch by punching So Saffron scallops.
•I stamped the flowers from the Enjoy Every Moment Stamp Set using So Saffron on Whisper White and Versamark on So Saffron and Rose Red cardstock and I heat embossed all of them with clear embossing powder.
•I turned the DSP over and used the opposite side for the “ribbon” and punched out my sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes with my Modern Label Punch. Using Stampin' Dimensionals, I popped up my sentiment and my big flower and added a Yellow Circle Fire Rhinestone to it.
I always use pale pink and pale blue for new baby cards so this was a real change-up for me, but I had a great time working with these colors. If you’d like to leave a comment and let me know if you think these colors work for a new baby, I would love that!
Before I close today, I have a few announcements—
•There are three new terrific catalogs with lots of amazing products starting on January 5—
Occasions Mini Catalog –- January 5 – April 20, 2010
Definitely Decorative Insert – January 5
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU’D LIKE A CATALOG AND I WILL GET ONE TO YOU.
•I’m scheduling my Valentines Workshop for Sunday, January 10 and Sunday, January 17 from 2-5PM. If you’d like to join me, please RSVP at ginatshaw@gmail.com. There will be a free give-away for anyone who brings a friend! Looking forward to seeing you there!
